Joie de vivre lives supreme here & I highly encourage anyone visiting to make your acquaintance with some of the County’s greatest OG ambassadors & guzzle their cider along the way.
Take it back to 2007, 20 acres of unplanted land and a 19th Century barn with only half a roof intact—these are the humble beginnings of Cold Creek Vineyards.
Add in 5 ½ acres of Pinot Noir (sold to County wine icon Closson Chase) and Frontenac Gris, 3 acres of apple trees and a fully restored barn that has been host to many a barn bash, and you’re caught up to today.
The Cidery
Cold Creek Vineyards is proud to produce traditional farmhouse style ciders, influenced by Brittany and Ireland with a County twist. Chris and Silvia opened their cidery in 2020, but their passion for all things apple dates back much further.
Cider maker Chris’ first job was at an orchard in Highland Creek, Ontario, and the dream started there. His Irish heritage lends to his love of cider, and his love of wine—hence the vineyard on site—influenced his desire to create something elegant, yet easy drinking.
Community
Mostly, Chris and Silvia have strived to create a place of County comradery, where locals and tourists alike can join in on the two pillars of PEC life—good friends and good times. Factor in good drinks et voilà: Cold Creek Vineyards.
