Ameliasburgh was the most happening place in the County in the 1800s. Back then, all the action took place in this pioneer centre of the region. The Heritage Village bears testament to that era, with its lovely complex of museums, cabin, barns, shops and even a tea room for modern day guests.
These days, Ameliasburgh proper is less buzzing, but still at the centre of a number of happening neighbourhoods and a perfect country drive, listening to the County anthem, watching the blur of lovely farmhouses, fields and gardens and stopping for some stellar in-home workshops and roadside stalls full of County bounty.
We’ll keep working to make sure these neighbourhood directories are as complete as possible, but remember—Ontario’s current travel restrictions and the pace and rhythm of the County means that hours change, new businesses pop up and old ones evolve. Always check in before dropping by!
